FROM CABIANCA SURFBOARDS:
From ‘Da Freak Kid’ to three-time world champion, we’ve loved watching Gabriel’s ascent, from high-flying teen prodigy to the all-round surfing virtuoso he is today. Just like his surfing, Gabriel’s go-to pro model surfboard has evolved constantly over the past years, and after years of constant development, we think it’s the most refined, balanced and straight-up magic board in our lineup.
Tuned to excel in quality waves, the DFK 2.0 is equally at home smashing the lip or flying far above it, and tube hunters will love its speed, balance and drive down the line.
The DFK 2.0 works in all kinds of conditions and for most ability of surfers. If the wave has a pocket, steep face and power, the board almost rides itself! If the waves have less power, the board needs an advanced surfer to make use of its best characteristics. It is made for technical surfing from 1 to 10 feet waves.
SKILL LEVEL: The DFKs are our most technical boards
FIN SET UP: Thruster
ROCKER: The board has a lot of rocker, mostly concentrated in the centre of the surfer’s base when standing.
CONCAVE: The single concave all along the board, captures the water capture generating greater water flow pressure towards the fins. This means the more pressure the surfer applies to the board, the greater the speed.
RAIL TYPE: Medium to low rails with really sharp edges from before the fins to the tail. These edges allow for a better grip on the wave face, giving more drive in extreme conditions.
