This 6'6" Al Merrick Torq collab in X-Lite is a super fun board for any quiver! Great for beginners needing plenty of paddling power/wave catching ability, with proven performance designs to really elevate their surfing skills, complimented by years of R&D by Al Merrick!

Condition: This board is in really good condition! The deck has very minimal and light to medium, but still below-average pressure wear. The bottom/belly is clean, with minimal to medium pressure wear in some areas. The swallow tail tips, nose and some areas along the rails have very minor cosmetic paint scuffs/chips that were professionally repaired by our Strayboards repair team. The carbon fiber is in perfect condition, and the board is water tight and ready to shred!! Read more about this model below!!

From Torq: X-LITE POD MOD

The Pod Mod design is a heavily modified Pod, designed to be ridden even shorter and wider than the original, catering to the surfer that wants a little more volume forward to catch waves but doesn’t want to sacrifice performance. The tail has been widened for small wave glide, and the original single to double concave has been replaced with a flat entry to concave vee for quick rail to rail transitions.

TORQ X-LITE TECHNOLOGY

X-Lite is a torq Epoxy technology developed specifically for performance boards. This is lighter, stronger and more Eco than a traditional PU/Polyester board, now with a 50% thinner Shield Skin for weight reduction. This innovative technology is used exclusively on the X-Lite Channel Islands models; the best selling Pod Mod and all new Chancho.

X-Lite technology now features an additional wood layer sandwich between the two deck biaxial layers. This wood composite is incredibly ding resistant but without adding stiffness usually associated with strength.
